Sleep Time Trouble

My little pink princess was never the avid sleeper!! Because she was premature by 5 weeks, mommy had to get up every 3 hours during the night for feeds.  Try keeping a full time job on 3 hours sleep a night....need I say more!  Now little poopie is bordering her 1st birthday and mommy still gets up once a night for a feed, not that i mind, I'm use to it by now(not to mention how I miss my little girl during the day, I actually enjoy the quiet time during the night with little poopie pants)!

What I am tying to say is just because your child does not sleep through on 3 months, does not mean you have bad parenting skills.  People (especially new mothers) created the illusion of measuring good patenting with sleeping habits....NONSENSE!!! Your night time feeds depends on your new little bundle of ENDLESS joy's needs, and those needs have to be met. Baby wont cry for a feed if she or he does not need one! I have a fantastic granny that taught me to not measure my baby's sleep patterns against other new Born's.  Catch a nap (if you are a stay-at-home mom) when baby naps until your body has adjusted to the routine.

So for all the mommy's out there who does not have brilliant sleepers. DON'T FEEL BAD! You are not alone, and you are certainly not a bad parent!

Here are some tips for bedtime!

- Follow a bed time routine
- Give dinner at least an hour before bed time
- For colic baby's; take baby on a road trip to calm the colic
- If you have a active baby, create a cool down period before bed time
- Don't think panado syrup is going to make your child sleep through the night....not gonna happen!
- A bit of tee in baby's bottle is great for bed time!!!

My routine: Bath, Bottle, Bed!
